Modulator Light Shade by Lazerian

Lazerian showed some new lamps during the London Design Festival. The same techniques used for the tables in the Mensa Collection have been used to create a wide pendant shade of birch plywood. As the Lazerian website says, "A computer-generated form was converted into modular sections, which were cut from 1.5mm birch plywood using a CNC routing machine. Emphasis was placed on limiting the number of unique module shapes in order to simplify construction; twenty six unique units are used in total, repeated through the symmetry of the form." Other black and white lamps are evocative of the Lazerian line of polypropylene jewellery.
