The gorgeous Remorkable Piano Switches fashioned as elegant piano keys give a new meaning to ebony and ivory. Made from Corian the keys can be customized in two tones or kept singular color. What’s neat is that you can engrave or screen-print text and symbols on them. The LED Module of switches embeds the lights within the frame, upping the glam-quotient. A voltage version, the 250V model also allows the product to be used for renovation work.

I admit, I’m smitten by these switches and hopefully can get my hands on them when they hit the shelves, end of this year.

Precise Orientation: "

One of the biggest advantages of a laptop is its portability feature. Using this as its premise, here is a very sleek version of how we should be really using a digital notebook. Ironic that it’s a leaf out of the journal kind, the Anderson’s main USP is the practical way of handling the book. Dual hinge system makes it possible to use the notebook in portrait and landscape mode. Realistic and do-able, I’d like one Anderson just for me!

Under, From Down Under: "

I love this new collection of lights and hanging racks by designer Kristian Aus for Aussie brand Under! Completely designed and manufactured in Australia, the collection plays with ideas of exposure and concealment as well as hard lines met with soft light and brilliant colors. The common thread found throughout this diverse collection is that all of the items, however different, are also very playful, inviting both physical contact and contemplation.

Triangulate Coat Rack:
A point of location for your keys, hats or mail, Triangulate is a five pronged coat rack, which features both hanging and storing space for your important items. Designed and made in Australia from powder-coated steel, it is a strong and durable storage solution.

Dottie Coat Rack:
Dottie is a beautifully crafted, timber coat rack that will compliment any interior. It provides a stylish hanging space for your coats, hats and scarves. Made in Australia from Tasmanian Oak, it features two different sized coat hooks that can be popped out as required.

Hut Pendant Light:
The Hut Pendant Light is sister to the the Autumn House Lights concept, a beacon of light and shape, which directs our gaze upwards, pointing us home. Hut is designed and made in Australia from powder-coated steel and acrylic and slots together without screws.

Facet Pendant Light: Facet is a sleek pendant light made from two identical steel halves to form a shade, which directs, conceals and reflects light from both within and without. It is an ever changing shape depending on your viewpoint.

Cornered Fluorescent Light:
Cornered Fluorescent Light can be installed in multiple orientations (horizontally, vertically, or at an angle) to accommodate a space or create a different effect. Designed for either wall or ceiling mounting, Cornered can be grouped for greater effect and is a modern take on a classic shape.

Metal Petal Pendant Light:
Designed to take advantage of the strength and simplicity of folded steel, Metal Petal is an extremely versatile and adaptable table, pendant and wall mounted lamp. The faceted shade can be attached to standard batten holders and fittings and comes in a range of powdercoat colours.

Humble by Design

Humble by Design: "

I have two printers at home and not one of them as smart as this Humble Home Printer by Tom Peach. For eons printers have got the second-class treatment as computer peripherals; at the most they get jazzed up with colors or integrate some new tech feature. Design-wise they remain boxy as ever! Humble is a refreshing change and given the detailed plans, I’m sure it will be a practical home option.

Tom says, “The home printing market is saturated with products that have been born out of the ‘office environment’. Their functionality, usability and styling originate from an environment intended for business, high levels of productivity and heavy usage. Humble moves away from conventional expectations of ‘a printer’ through simple and enjoyable interaction, heightened convenience, improved space economy, better ink level awareness and a reduction of work-related equipment visible in the home.”
